A Dominican couple based in the United States chose Positano for an intimate destination wedding on the Amalfi Coast — bringing together their story, their traditions and the unmistakable beauty of southern Italy.

For them, Italy was more than a backdrop. It became part of the experience: the sea, the streets of Positano, the people they love and the quiet moments they shared throughout the day.

Built into the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean, Positano has a way of making everything feel both cinematic and intimate. The colorful houses, narrow streets and endless views over the sea created the setting for a wedding that was deeply personal to this couple.

As a Dominican couple based in the United States, they travelled to Italy to celebrate their love in a place that felt completely different from everyday life.

And that is what made this destination wedding so special: it wasn’t simply about getting married in one of the most beautiful places in the world. It was about experiencing that place together.

A Day Between Positano and the Sea

One of the things we love most about destination weddings is that the location becomes part of the story.

On this day, Positano wasn’t simply somewhere the wedding happened. It was something they experienced together — from the streets of the town to the sea, surrounded by the landscape of the Amalfi Coast.

The boat ride offered a completely different perspective of Positano, with the town rising from the cliffs behind them and the Mediterranean stretching out around them.

These quieter moments between the main events of the day gave the film space to breathe and allowed their relationship to remain at the centre of the story.

A Wedding Rooted in Their Story

A destination wedding can also be a way of bringing the things that matter most into a completely new setting.

For this Dominican couple, their traditions travelled with them to Italy and became part of the celebration.

During the ceremony, they included the traditional arras, a symbolic exchange of coins representing mutual trust, shared responsibility and the future they are building together.

Bringing this tradition into their Italian destination wedding made the ceremony uniquely theirs. It was a small but meaningful reminder that, even thousands of miles from home, their story and their roots remained an important part of the day.

A Ceremony Overlooking the Amalfi Coast

As the ceremony began, the atmosphere became quieter and more intimate.

There were promises, rings, traditions and the emotions that come with realizing that a long-awaited moment has finally arrived.

Rather than trying to turn every moment into something spectacular, we wanted to preserve the natural rhythm of the ceremony — the pauses, the looks, the hands, the reactions and the small details happening between the words.

Because a wedding film is not only about what was said.

It is also about everything that happened while those words were being spoken.

The People Behind the Celebration

Every detail of the day was thoughtfully created to complement the setting and, most importantly, the couple themselves.

At Casa Passalacqua, the intimate atmosphere of the venue became the starting point for the celebration, while the floral design by Flora Garden Positano brought the colors and natural beauty of the Amalfi Coast into the ceremony.

The ceremony was guided by Carmela, Italy Wedding Celebrant, whose words gave space to the couple’s promises, emotions and traditions. Among them was the arras, a meaningful Dominican tradition that became part of their ceremony in Italy.

From the cake created by Fiorellanna Cakes & More to the catering by KM0 Praiano, every element contributed to an experience that felt both elegant and personal.

Hair and makeup were created by Makeup Positano, while the evening continued on the water with a sunset cruise by Positano Boats, offering the couple another way to experience the coastline they had chosen as the setting for their wedding.

Videography by Fabio Zangari Films preserved these moments from two different perspectives, Salvatore Cosentino documenting not only how the day looked, but how it felt to be there.

Positano, and the Beginning of Forever

When the ceremony came to an end, the landscape of Positano returned to the story in a different way.

The sea, the cliffs and the town became the setting for the beginning of something new.

But ultimately, this film isn’t really about Positano.

It is about two people who travelled across the ocean to begin a new chapter of their lives together, bringing with them the places, traditions and experiences that shaped who they are.

Positano simply became the place where that chapter began.
